Makati Mayor and Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-LABAN) National President Jejomar C. Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.  The PDP-Laban, which marked its 26^th Anniversary last March, represents the union of two political organizations ¿ the PDP, established in 1982 by Senator Aquilino Pimentel Jr.; and LABAN, the party of the late Senator Benigno ¿Ninoy¿ Aquino, Jr. established in 1978.  In 1986, these two political parties coalesced to form PDP-Laban, the single biggest political opposition group to go up against Marcos in the 1985 snap elections.
