335th "ARAW NG MAKATI" CELEBRATION BEGINS WITH PASINAYA 2005 posted 04/30/2005 12:00 AM SATURDAY
The month-long celebration of the 335th Makati Foundation Day will be kick-started with Barangay Bel-Air and The Bel-Air Village Association's (BAVA) Annual Pasinaya Festival happening on April 29 to May 1. Makati Mayor Jejomar C. Binay expressed his support for the residents of Barangay Bel-Air on their 12th fiesta celebration. "The city government joins Barangay Bel-Air in their Pasinaya 2005. This is a fitting event to set a tone of festiveness for the 335th Araw ng Makati celebration,” Binay said. Barangay Bel-Air's Captain Constancia Lichauco said that this year's Pasinaya will carry the theme "Barangay Bahaghari." She said the theme emphasizes the vibrant and colorful mood that fills Bel-Air and its residents. Barangay Bel-Air and BAVA have lined up a series of events and activities for their three-day celebration. A bazaar will be put up in the barangay's Multi Purpose Hall at Solar Street. Pasinaya 2005 will also include a parade, dog show, car show, food fest, kalesa rides and a concert by OPM bands Sugar Free, Sponge Cola and 6 Cycle Mind. A new addition to this year's celebration is a fashion show sponsored by Rustan’s, where guest models and the children of Bel-Air residents will strut down the catwalk. The Pasinaya will culminate with a dance presentation on the night of May 1 entitled, "Kulay at Sayaw, Noon at Ngayon” where Bel-Air residents will switch from one dance number to another. "Kulay at Sayaw, Noon at Ngayon” officially launches the "Araw ng Makati" celebration. The 335th "Araw ng Makati" is presented by Mayor Jejomar C. Binay, through the city government of Makati and its partners Ayala Land, Makati Commercial Estates Association, Ayala Center, Rockwell Center, Power Plant Mall, Manila Bulletin, GMA 7, Yuchengco Group of Companies, Philippine Airlines, PLDT/Smart and San Miguel Corporation.
